Video Investigator: Personal vs Professional
Video Investigator/Video Active (VI/VA) VI/VA Personal Edition is based on RAM capture, meaning the maximum amount of captured data will be allocated by the available amount of free RAM. Keep in mind that the operating system will use up some of the memory as well as any other programs running in the background. So please make sure you always shut down any unnecessary activities before you start the capture process. Your capture time will usually be anywhere between 5 seconds (256 MB RAM) up to a few minutes (1-4 GB RAM).
VI/VA Professional Edition is designed for our turnkey systems for the purpose of an unlimited capture environment (the limit be your available disk space). The capture time could be several hours in some cases, depending on the amount of disk arrays.
The professional edition also allows for a more luxurious work environment, with added capabilities such as multiple track capture in Video Active, taken full advantage of the real time environment and a VCR control based on a software interface. Video Investigator offers a calibration tool in conjunction with the acquisition environment, a 90+ avi file support and covers mpeg 2 with audio and video input.
