Software Installation Procedures

The following  information is for the Cognitech Tri-Suite11 software only:

 

Note 1: You must have Administrator rights/privileges when you the install software.

 

Note 2: The statements below apply to current customers who have purchased the Cognitech Annual Software Upgrade Program (ASUP) (part of the Cognitech Tri-Suite11 software suite).  Please contact Cognitech for more information regarding enrollment for the ASUP.

 

The Cognitech Tri-Suite11 software has an Automatic Update (AU) capability.  This capability is similar to anti-virus program updates, which require the user to update to the latest software version.  AU will provide and install the latest Cognitech Tri-Suite11 at the click of a button.  The AU is available 24/7, thus providing a push capability for the latest available build.

 

Please note that on the average, Cognitech makes several new builds per month.  These builds reflect the latest fixes, graphical interface improvements, new Cognitech hardware drivers, and most significantly, new filters and modules that extend the capabilities for all end-users.

 

Some highly customized secured systems will require a manual installation, if the AU is not desirable. Cognitech will provide this service online, free of charge.  In case your security protocol precludes the use of the internet by the end-user’s video workstation, special provisions are available for updates.

 

The customers who have not upgraded to the Cognitech Tri-Suite11 software, do not have AU capability.  Therefore, the first upgrade is done through an online session or through media distribution.
